A good dream could indeed come from the pod without going to sleep, but it’s unlikely to work once you’ve completed its digital dreamer challenge first. I find this very useful, but the dream pod doesn't seem to get a rested full moodlet so i guess i need to put my sims to sleep on real beds afterwards just for that moodlet.
